We don't just want your submissions, we want your participation!
Fear not, ye skeptics, we accept everything, or pieces of everything, at least. Those lines that jump out to us, that image that haunts. Submissions are therefore subject to any degree of manipulation apart from the original author's intent, not out of spite, but solidarity, to encapsulate every voice within a greater body, a grander tongue. What we are making is a monster.
To what degree you're involved in this absurd alchemy is entirely up to you. We'll be hosting gatherings where this process, this gestating, this outlining of our anatomy, takes place, and we invite you to join us. The more you come, the more you'll have a stake in how things get shaped. If you just wish to submit and cannot commit yourself outside of that, that's perfectly fine too. You will still be an integral part of the journal, perhaps an arm or a pinky. Just know that if you submit a Casanova, it may come out a Frankenstein.
Soon, we will have a central forum on this site where work can be publicly submitted, swapped, shared, altered, and critiqued. For now, use our blog or submit to slightlywest@gmail.com. During the fall, we will also install receptacles around campus where submissions (broadly categorized) may be dropped off.
